With the introduction of Telematics and the focus on the driver behaviour, has this improved general standards of driving?
It may be that drivers on company business are indeed driving better, but many drivers on the roads are not necessarily driving company cars, so is it the case that all drivers are getting better?
Instead we focus on the improving technology in cars. Maybe this is the reason why accidents are declining.
More research is obviously needed, but for Fleet Managers, policies must ensure that drivers when selecting their next car have the right policy in place to ensure they are choosing the right safety features, either as a default or optional extra and what are you doing to ensure this happens.
